Nathan Dworkin, MA
Psychology Intern

Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student at William James College

Nathan Dworkin, MA is a current 4th year Clinical Psychology PsyD student at William James College. He also earned his Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Psychology at William James College in 2024. Previously, he graduated from Wagner College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biopsychology, and a minor in Spanish.

Training Background
Nathan has an extensive background in working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings including intensive outpatient programs, inpatient programs, hospitals, and private practices. Nathan specializes in treating patients with acute psychiatric presentations including self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, and anxiety. He has refined his skills at various Massachusetts agencies such as Birch Hill Behavioral Health PLLC, Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, and Steppingstone Inc.
While at Birch Hill Behavioral Health in Wellesley Hills MA, Nathan worked as a clinical intern and therapist, providing individual therapy services as well as leading an adolescent DBT skills group. In addition, he developed curriculum for skills groups for teenage boys with anxiety, utilizing a variety of treatment modalities and topics around masculinity.
During his internship at the Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, Nathan worked in the adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program as well as the Child Inpatient Unit, organizing and leading a variety of groups for children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years old. He also addressed the needs of individuals of marginalized identities and patients with a history of self-harm and suicidal ideation.
While at Steppingstone Inc., in Fall River MA, Nathan worked as a clinical intern and counselor, treating patients with a range of clinical presentations including trauma, abuse, probation/parole, unhoused individuals, and substance abuse.

Clinical Experience
Nathan Dworkin’s clinical background has provided him extensive experience in working with child, adolescent, and teen clients who struggle with self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, substance abuse, and a range of externalizing behaviors. His ability to work with clients who experience acute symptoms has allowed him to assess and treat patients in collaboration with his clients’ support systems/teams. His prior experience in individual, group, and family modalities allows him to holistically address his clients’ presenting issues. For these reasons and many more, Nathan is a valuable team member in his work with a diverse mix of fellow clinicians at CCS and within the greater Boston mental health community.
