Adolescent Treatment Resistant DBT Group (In-Person)Details
Day: Thursdays Our adolescent DBT skills group is designed to provide a supportive and structured environment for teens to learn and practice essential coping strategies. This group welcomes adolescents with varying levels of experience with DBT, whether they have been introduced to these skills in outpatient therapy, inpatient hospital programs, or school-based interventions. Led by Dr. Perna and Dr. Paden—both trained in the DBT foundational program—our group follows an evidence-based, research-supported curriculum specifically tailored for teenagers. The program focuses on the four core components of DBT:
In addition to these foundational DBT skills, our program incorporates Middle Path Strategies, which help bridge gaps in family communication and promote balanced, effective decision-making. These strategies are also used in our Family therapy and team meetings and are integral parts of our approach, ensuring that adolescents receive comprehensive system-based support. We also emphasize a Holistic Learning Approach, integrating learning principles into all aspects of treatment to promote long-term emotional resilience and personal growth. Our goal is to equip adolescents with the skills they need to navigate challenges, build confidence, and foster healthier relationships. For parents seeking a structured, research-backed approach to help their teen develop essential life skills, our DBT skills group provides a compassionate and evidence-based solution.
