Dr. Andrea Brooks
Licensed Psychologist | Post-Doctoral Fellow in Psychology

Dr. Brooks is a Licensed Psychologist and Post-Doctoral Fellow who graduated from William James College, where she received her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology. As an undergraduate, she attended Springfield College, where she received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Training Background
Dr. Brooks has an extensive background in working with clients across the age spectrum, with various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. She has worked in settings that have included outpatient, community health centers, elementary schools where she has provided individual, family, and group therapy, as well as peer mentorship, and neuropsychological testing. Dr. Brooks specializes in treating patients with mood, substance use, and trauma-related disorders who require support and coordination of their outpatient team.

Dr. Brook’s work at various agencies across Massachusetts has provided her with a breadth of experience treating complex emotional, behavioral, social, and learning needs. Her time at The Home for Little Wanderers in Roslindale enhanced her knowledge of school-based psychotherapy, treating students and families in underserved populations and expanding her previous experience with neuropsychological assessments. While at Harbor Health Services in Plymouth, Dr. Brooks provided individual therapy and outpatient team coordination in a community health center setting. Her passion for equal opportunity mental health care shines through in her commitment to providing services to underserved populations including low-income families and individuals from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds. Her experience with substance use disorders and opioid use disorders compliments her drive to help those in need of connection and support. Dr. Brooks’ time working at Claypit Hill Elementary School in Wayland expanded her experience working with K-6th grade children by facilitating social skills groups, attending IEP meetings, and providing individual counseling.

Clinical Experience
Dr. Brooks’ clinical background has provided her extensive experience in working with patients who struggle with trauma-related disorders, ADHD, substance use disorders, neuropsychological testing, mood disorders, and a range of externalizing behaviors. Her experience in systems-based work with families, schools and outpatient treatment teams coordinates various treaters into supporting her patients and helping facilitate a holistic understanding of their combined learning and behavioral challenges. She utilizes her prior experience doing individual, group, and family-centered treatment to help address the complex needs of her patients and has made her a valuable team member collaborating with fellow clinicians at CCS on a range of clinical cases.
