Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student (Psy.D)
William James College

Kayvon received a Masters of Arts (MA) degree from American International College in Clinical Psychology. Furthermore, he also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Suffolk University with a pre-law related minor, focused on family and immigration law which propelled him in attending law school for two years at Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, MA.

After working in various settings for mental health upon leaving law, he enrolled in the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program at William James College. His graduate training program has allowed him to train with Adolescent Consultation Services (via the Cambridge Juvenile Court Clinic) where he had a breadth of experience in evaluating/treating adolescents and their families having been referred by the juvenile court authorities. He has also worked in challenging mental health environments including McLean Hospital and Health Care and Rehab Associates of Southern, Vermont, coordinating the treatment of patients with severe psychiatric issues utilizing a team-based mileu.

His prior interest in law afforded him the opportunity to work on immigration issues with a variety of individuals who presented with a range of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Most recently, he completed his Full-Time APA Consortium site in Springfield, Vermont at the Rural Vermont Collaborative of the Precision Valley, splitting time between the community health centers in Ludlow and Springfield, VT and at the Springfield School District. He received training within the school district and within an integrated primary care system and assisted living and nursing facilities, providing assessment, consultation, and interventions to address a diverse range of needs and populations (from early childhood through geriatric). He was able to effectively treat individuals in a community-based and school setting utilizing CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Play & Art Therapy. and other approaches to treatment.
