Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student (Psy.D)
William James College

Nicole Nocera, LMHC, is a third year clinical psychology doctoral student, working towards a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D) from William James College. At Copernican Clinical Services, Nicole offers individual and family therapy, Clinical Tutoring and co-facilitates groups with elementary to college age students, working very closely with our College Transition Program.

Nicole had previously received a Master's of School Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University, later qualifying her for state licensure as a Massachusetts Mental Health Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from The College of the Holy Cross.

Nicole's academic training has given her a wide range of experience in working with and counseling children, adolescents and adults with a range of psychiatric presentations and co-morbid mental health/substance use issues.

She completed an Internship at LaGuardia Community College where she worked with college students who experienced executive function challenges and mental health issues during the course of their college placement. She had previously worked as a school-based counselor with a diverse population of students who attended the Boston Public Schools. She also worked in Arbor Counseling Service's  Boston site, as an outpatient  clinician, meeting a host of needs for a primarily urban, socio-economically diverse patient population. She had previously worked in New York State treating mandated parolees who struggled with substance abuse concerns, vocational instability, and anger management issues. She is not afraid of a challenge!

Using an integrative, holistic approach to treatment, Nicole aims to provide a safe and strong therapeutic connection with her clients to empower their self-management of symptoms, interpersonal strength, and overall wellness. She  focuses on whole body, mindful relaxation and  is a certified  Yoga Instructor. Nicole  enjoys working with clients of all ages and  values coordinating closely with  families, school staff, and co-treaters.
